US Warns Pakistan of Threats from BLA, ISIS-K, TTP

Islamabad– US State Department spokesperson Margaret MacLeod has warned that Pakistan continues to face serious threats from terrorist groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Speaking after the U.S.-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue held in Islamabad on August 12, MacLeod said both countries renewed their commitment to fighting terrorism and shared strategies to address new challenges.

She praised Pakistan’s efforts in its fight against terrorism and offered condolences for recent attacks, including the Jaffer Express bombing and the attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, which killed civilians and security personnel.

MacLeod, who also serves as Deputy Director of the London International Media Hub, said the talks showed the importance of strong U.S.-Pakistan cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region.
