Government Announces Public Holiday on October 20
Kasur district administration has officially announced a local holiday on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The holiday is being observed in connection with the 268th annual Urs of Sufi poet Baba Bulleh Shah.
According to the notification, all government offices, schools, and public institutions in Kasur will remain closed on Saturday. With this, residents of the district will enjoy an extended two-day weekend.
The Urs celebrations will begin on Friday, August 22 and will continue until Sunday, August 24. Thousands of devotees from across Pakistan are expected to travel to Kasur to attend the spiritual gatherings.
During the three-day event, special Sufi music performances, Qawwali sessions, and traditional rituals will be held. The Urs of Baba Bulleh Shah is considered one of the most significant cultural and spiritual festivals in Punjab.
Every year, this annual Urs attracts a huge number of visitors, including followers of Sufism, cultural enthusiasts, and tourists who come to experience the unique spiritual atmosphere.
The district administration has also made arrangements for the smooth management of the large gatherings, ensuring facilities for devotees and visitors.
