Dar Says Pakistan Defeated India’s False Narrative of Regional Dominance

20 August, 2025 11:49

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said Pakistan had successfully buried India’s false claims of regional dominance. He stressed that India’s narrative of being the “net security provider” of South Asia had collapsed after the recent armed conflict.

Speaking at a press conference in London after his official UK visit, Dar said Pakistan’s position was based on truth and facts. He added that even Indian media and bureaucracy had admitted that their narrative failed.

Pakistan’s Stand Against Indian Aggression

Dar said the conflict began with unprovoked Indian aggression, but Pakistan responded strongly both in the air and on the ground. He said Pakistan did not request anyone for a ceasefire. Instead, India accepted it, which was conveyed to him by US Secretary of State Rubio.

He reminded Indian leaders that they should accept reality and move forward instead of denying their defeat.

Pakistan’s Regional and Global Role

Dar highlighted that Pakistan always respected sovereignty and integrity of all countries and expected the same from others. He also said Pakistan had been the biggest victim of terrorism, losing over 90,000 lives and suffering economic damages worth $192 billion.

He recalled that terrorism was eliminated in 2014 during Nawaz Sharif’s government and stressed that the world must recognize Pakistan’s sacrifices.

He also welcomed the US decision to declare BLA and Majeed Brigade as international terrorist groups, saying Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts played a role in this move.

Economic Stability and National Unity

The deputy PM said the government was focused on economic growth, adding that foreign reserves were improving while inflation was falling. He urged Pakistanis to stay united so the country could join the D-20 group in the future.

On the aviation front, he welcomed the EU decision to lift the ban on PIA in late 2024. He said the UK followed the same path, and flights to Manchester could start in September, with possible expansion to London.

Dar also said his meetings with UK leaders were “productive” and covered Kashmir, climate change, and bilateral trade.
