PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir visit flood-hit areas of KP

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir visited the flood-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The two leaders first landed in Swat, where they were welcomed by Federal Minister Amir Muqam. They reviewed the impact of the floods and met with local officials. After that, they traveled to Buner district to inspect the ongoing relief operations.
Recent heavy rains and flash floods have caused massive destruction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. More than 350 people have died so far. Out of these, at least 228 deaths were reported from Buner alone. Local authorities are still searching for missing persons.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is sending relief supplies to the affected areas. On Wednesday morning, the authority dispatched two separate consignments for Bajaur and Mansehra. The aid includes tents, blankets, dewatering pumps, generators, ration bags, and medicines.
The NDMA confirmed that all items will be handed over to the district administrations for fair distribution. The authority is working with the Pakistan Army and several welfare organizations to ensure fast relief delivery. Aid is also being sent to flood-affected regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Officials said the federal and provincial governments are focusing on both rescue work and rehabilitation. The Prime Minister directed all departments to stay alert and speed up relief efforts.
