Private Schools, Colleges in Karachi Announce Closure Amid Rain Forecast

Government Announce 2 Holidays for Karachi Schools and Colleges After Heavy Rainfall
KARACHI: In view of the ongoing and expected rainfall, several private schools and colleges in Karachi have announced that they will remain closed tomorrow (Wednesday).
According to announcements made by private educational institutions, schools and colleges located in areas such as Johar, Model Colony, Al-Falah Society, and FB Area will not open due to the weather situation. Administrations of these institutions said that heavy rainfall has disrupted routine life, and students’ safety is their top priority.
However, the Sindh government has not issued any official notification regarding a public holiday in schools and colleges. This means government schools and other private institutions outside the affected areas may continue to operate as per schedule.
The rainfall in Karachi has caused waterlogging in many localities, traffic congestion, and power outages. Parents have expressed concerns about commuting difficulties and the safety of children during bad weather.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain in Karachi in the coming days, advising residents to stay alert and take precautionary measures.
Educationists and parents have urged the provincial authorities to make a clear and unified decision regarding school operations to avoid confusion among students and families.
