Traffic Challans to Be Sent on WhatsApp Under New System
Lahore – Wednesday, August 20, 2025: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has launched a new system to make traffic challans more convenient for citizens. From now on, all traffic fines will be sent directly to people’s mobile phones through WhatsApp.
Earlier, people had to send emails for corrections and queries, which caused delays. Under the new system, challans will go to the phone numbers already registered in the Excise Department database.
Citizens can now see the number of challans issued against them on their mobile screens, along with images from traffic cameras. A secure payment link will also be shared via WhatsApp, making fine payments quick and easy.
The Safe Cities website has also been upgraded. A new “Review” button allows users to request corrections online. If the system finds the challan to be wrong, it will be canceled immediately.
Officials said these upgrades will make the process more transparent, digital, and user-friendly. Payments can still be made through the official Safe Cities website, giving citizens multiple options for convenience.
