Karachi Faces More Rainfall as PMD Warns of Another Monsoon Spell

21 August, 2025 12:22

The lingering monsoon system continues to affect Karachi, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting moderate rain accompanied by thunder at most places in the city over the next 24 hours. Some localities may also witness heavy downpours.

Sindh’s Minister for Climate Change, Memon, noted that while the current system’s intensity is likely to decline from Friday, “light to moderate rain could continue.” He further cautioned, “We are fine for only a few days after that,” highlighting that another, stronger monsoon system is expected to hit Sindh around August 29–30.

According to the Met Office, today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 29°C with humidity levels at 81%, while winds are blowing from the southeast at 3 km/h.
