51 Dead Across Sindh as Heavy Rains Damage Homes, Roads

The PDMA Sindh has reported a total of 51 casualties and 68 wounded so far across the province.

According to PDMA Sindh, the death toll includes 21 men, 8 women, and 2 children. Among them, three deaths were reported from Hyderabad, one from Khairpur, and two from Umerkot.

In addition, seven casualties were reported from Tharparkar, while Karachi South district reported three deaths. Karachi West recorded one death, East ten deaths, Korangi three deaths, Central two deaths, and Malir two deaths.

Other areas also reported fatalities: two from Tando Allahyar, one from Tando Muhammad Khan, and two from Qambar Shahdadkot. Moreover, PDMA Sindh stated that seven deaths were reported from Jacobabad.

Relief efforts are underway. The PDMA confirmed that six 24-HP pumps have been installed in Shaheed Benazirabad during the last 24 hours. Additionally, four 24-HP dewatering pumps have been installed in Naushahro Feroze, and five dewatering pumps in Hyderabad.

Key routes including University Road, MT Khan Road, and Qayyumabad Interchange have been cleared for traffic. The drainage process has also been completed in several underpasses in Karachi, including Submarine, Tariq Road, KPT (Clifton), Drigh Road, and Liaquatabad. The Gulbai flyover and Sohrab Goth underpass have also been cleared.

The PDMA further reported that a house in Tando Muhammad Khan was partially damaged during the last 24 hours.
