Sher Shah, Shah Rez Khan Arrested in May 9 Jinnah House Attack Case

Two fugitive suspects involved in the May 9 Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) riots have been arrested, GTV News reported on Saturday.

According to sources, Sher Shah Khan, one of the key accused in the Jinnah House attack, has been apprehended. He was reportedly with convicted criminal Hassan Niazi at the time of the attack. After the incident, Sher Shah initially went into hiding and later fled to London.

Sources state that during his time in hiding, Sher Shah continued to run anti-state digital propaganda campaigns. He was arrested by the police on August 22, 2025, upon his return to Pakistan. An FIR had already been registered against him in connection with the May 9 attack.

According to the FIR, Sher Shah is accused of arson, vandalism, setting a police van on fire, and attacking police personnel. Video evidence reportedly confirms his presence at the crime scene. Authorities have requested a 30-day physical remand for a polygraph test and other investigative purposes.

Sher Shah had been hiding in London for two years before his arrest, which was made in accordance with legal procedures, sources say.

The second accused, Shah Rez Khan, has also been formally arrested in the same case. He is alleged to have played a role in planning and executing the attack on Jinnah House. His name was previously included in a supplementary report filed in September 2023.

Shah Rez Khan was presented in court on August 22, 2025, following the registration of an FIR against him.
