Sindh Launches Free Electric Motorcycle Scheme for Women — Online Registration Open
The Sindh Workers Welfare Board (WWB) has begun registration for its new initiative to provide 10,000 free electric motorcycles to women industrial workers across the province. Applications are being accepted exclusively through the board’s official portal at www.wwbsindh.gov.pk.
Eligibility Criteria
Women aged 20 to 45 employed in registered industrial establishments are eligible to apply, provided they are registered with either the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) or the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI). In addition, a 20% quota has been reserved for women from minority communities.
Application Process
The scheme follows a fully digital application process. Interested applicants must apply online via the official WWB Sindh website. Beneficiaries will be selected through a transparent digital lottery system, ensuring there is no human interference in the selection process.
Requirements for Selected Candidates
Successful applicants will be required to obtain a valid motorcycle driving license within 60 days. Once delivered, the electric motorcycle must be retained for at least seven years, during which it cannot be sold or transferred.
Officials explained that the initiative aims to provide women with safe, affordable, and eco-friendly transportation, reducing commuting costs while promoting environmental sustainability.
How to Apply:
- Visit www.wwbsindh.gov.pk
- Go to the Electric Motorcycle Scheme section
- Complete and submit the online application form
- Wait for the digital lottery results published online
- If selected, secure a motorcycle driving license within 60 days
- Receive the electric motorcycle and commit to a seven-year usage agreement
