May 9 Attack on Rana Sanaullah’s Residence: Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, and 59 Others Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison
Faisalabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) announced its verdict in the case of the May 9 attack on the residence of Rana Sanaullah.
In a significant decision, the court acquitted 34 accused, including prominent political figures Fawad Chaudhry and Zain Qureshi.
Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Zartaj Gul were each sentenced to 10 years in prison. MPAs Sheikh Shahid Javed and Ismail Sila were also sentenced to 10 years each. Kanwal Shozab, Ahmed Chatha, and Rai Hassan Nawaz were also given 10-year sentences. Rashid Shafiq, Ansar Iqbal, and Bilal Ijaz were each sentenced to 10 years in prison.
ATC Judge Javed Iqbal delivered the reserved verdict. The case was registered at Samanabad Police Station under the complaint of a Sub-Inspector.
