Sindh government announced holiday on September 24
The Deputy Commissioner of Attock has officially declared Thursday, 28th August 2025, as a public holiday across the district.
According to the notification issued by the DC office, all government offices, schools, and educational institutions in Attock will remain closed on this day. The holiday has been announced to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan, a revered Sufi saint.
Every year, the Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan is celebrated with deep religious devotion, and thousands of devotees from across Pakistan gather to participate in the spiritual events. The closure of offices and schools aims to facilitate the large number of people attending the ceremonies.
Local authorities have also advised the public to plan their schedules accordingly, as traffic flow may be affected due to the arrival of visitors. Security arrangements are expected to be tightened in and around the event venue to ensure safety for all participants.
