27 August, 2025 21:39

Lahore – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that Sialkot has suffered the most destruction due to heavy rainfall. She praised the performance of concerned departments for providing timely help to flood-affected families, saying that quick relief and rescue efforts have saved lives and reduced losses.

The Chief Minister warned that tonight there is danger in Ravi and Shahdara areas of Lahore due to high water levels. She said that both Sutlej and Ravi rivers have received an extraordinary amount of water, which has caused flooding in many areas of Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz confirmed that the government is fully prepared and taking strong measures to deal with the situation. She added that relocation of families from high-risk areas is already in progress to ensure public safety.

She noted that the flood crisis became worse after India released a large volume of water, creating what she called an “extremely unusual situation.”

The Chief Minister reassured citizens that the Punjab government is monitoring the situation round the clock, and all institutions are actively engaged in providing relief and rescue services.
