Fuel Prices in Pakistan Likely to Rise from September 1 Amid Global Market Trends
Pakistan may see an increase in fuel prices starting September 1 due to movements in the global oil market.
Over the past 13 days, crude oil prices have risen internationally. British Brent crude has traded upward from $65.85 to $67.47 per barrel, while US crude has increased by $1.64 per barrel, rising from $61.98 to $63.62 per barrel.
Locally, petroleum product prices are set to be revised on August 31. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will submit a summary of the petroleum price determination to the government on the same day.
Following approval by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Ministry of Finance will issue a notification detailing the new prices.
While the exact extent of the increase remains uncertain, sources indicate that prices may either see a slight rise or remain unchanged.
