The Punjab government is actively responding to the ongoing flood situation, with major installations being protected by breaching embankments, according to Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari.
Authorities have shifted residents to safe locations ahead of the embankment breaches. “Around 250,000 cusecs of water are expected to pass through Ravi and Shahdara,” Azma Bukhari said, adding that the Head Qadirabad, with a capacity of 900,000 cusecs, has already seen 950,000 cusecs of flow pass through.
