Pakistan to Witness First-Ever Blood Moon During September Lunar Eclipse
Pakistan is set to witness a Blood Moon for the first time in the countryโs history, according to the Meteorological Department. The rare celestial event will occur during a total lunar eclipse on the night of September 7โ8, 2025.
The eclipse will begin at 8:28 pm on September 7, with the partial phase starting at 9:27 pm. The total lunar eclipse will peak at 11:12 pm and continue until 1:55 am on September 8. The partial eclipse will end at 12:57 am, making the entire event last 5 hours and 27 minutes.
Astronomers explain that during a total lunar eclipse, the Earthโs shadow covers the Moon, giving it a striking red hue โ commonly known as a Blood Moon.
This rare phenomenon will not only be visible across Pakistan but also in several parts of the world, including Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and regions of the Pacific Ocean.
Skywatchers are eagerly awaiting this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as it marks the first time in history that Pakistan will experience such a spectacular event.
