Karachi Imposes Heavy Traffic Ban on 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal
Authorities have announced a strict ban on the movement of dumpers and other heavy vehicles in Karachi on the 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, coinciding with the celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Officials confirmed that “action will be taken against dumpers and other heavy traffic vehicles found violating the ban.”
According to the notification issued by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Police Peer Muhammad Shah, all dumper owners have been informed in advance about the restriction. The measure aims to ensure the safety of citizens and smooth traffic flow during religious events.
Each year, large rallies, gatherings, and processions are organized across Karachi to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), drawing massive participation, particularly from motorcycle riders. Given the heavy rush on roads during these days, traffic authorities have taken preventive steps to minimize risks.
The traffic police emphasized that the decision was necessary to avoid accidents and other untoward incidents that could be caused by heavy vehicles moving alongside the large processions.
