Petrol, diesel prices expected to drop from Sept 1 - check new rates
Heavy rains, landslides, and flash floods have recently hit several areas in the country, especially in Punjab, with worries that these effects might spread to Sindh as well. Despite these challenging weather conditions, there is some good news for the public: fuel prices are expected to drop slightly starting September 1.
This possible price cut comes after a small fall in oil prices in the international market. Early estimates suggest that petrol could become cheaper by Rs. 0.61 per liter, making the new price around Rs. 264.00 per liter.
High-speed diesel is expected to see a bigger drop of about Rs. 3.13 per liter, bringing its price down to Rs. 269.86 per liter. Kerosene and light diesel oil prices may also decrease by Rs. 1.57 and Rs. 2.61 per liter, respectively.
The government will officially announce the new fuel prices by midnight tomorrow, and these changes will take effect from September 1. This small relief in fuel costs could help many people as they deal with the difficult weather conditions.
