PM Fully Aware of Flood Situation, Calls for Collective Action: Musadik Malik
ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fully aware of the ongoing flood situation in the country and has directed authorities to keep the public informed.
Speaking to the media, Malik confirmed that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is also monitoring the situation closely, receiving daily reports on flood conditions. He stressed that Pakistan is facing natural disasters due to climate change, including heavy rains, floods, and melting glaciers.
The minister highlighted that Pakistan’s contribution to global carbon emissions is very low, yet the country is bearing the brunt of climate-induced disasters. He said both the federal and provincial governments are actively supporting relief operations to protect lives and property.
Musadik Malik appealed to philanthropists to step forward and assist flood-affected families, emphasizing that the safety of communities remains the government’s top priority. He also noted that all state institutions, under the coordination of the NDMA, are working together to manage the crisis effectively.
