Govt Revises School Timings Across Punjab Until October 15

The Punjab Education Department has issued revised school timings for all government schools, effective from today (Monday) until October 15, 2025, excluding institutions in flood-affected areas.

According to the notification, the updated schedule covers single-shift, double-shift, and afternoon schools. Teachers have been granted additional time for lesson planning, training sessions, and co-curricular activities.

Revised School Timings in Punjab:

• Single Shift Schools: Monday–Thursday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm, and Friday from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
• Double Shift / Afternoon Schools (Morning Shift): Monday–Thursday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm, and Friday from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
• Double Shift / Afternoon Schools (Evening Shift): Monday–Thursday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The School Education Department has instructed all District Education Authorities to “strictly implement the new school timings in Punjab”, warning that any negligence will be addressed under the law.

Additionally, a 15-minute relaxation in both opening and closing times has been permitted for girls’ schools.
