Nasir Hussain Shah Says Province Prepared for Possible Super Flood

KARACHI: Sindh Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that while there is currently no major flood wave entering the province, the government is fully prepared to deal with any possible “super flood” situation.

The minister shared that water flow at Guddu Barrage stands at 300,000 cusecs, while 200,000 cusecs of water is passing through Trimmu Barrage. He added that Sindh Chief Minister personally visited the affected areas and also directed ministers to ensure close monitoring and relief measures.

According to Nasir Hussain Shah, over 100,000 people have already been safely relocated from vulnerable katcha (riverine) areas to safer locations. He stressed that the government is on high alert to protect lives and property as water levels continue to fluctuate.
