Judicial System Being Made More Effective Through Technology: Chief Justice Yahya Afridi

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi highlighted the role of technology, stating that the judicial system is being made more effective through digital initiatives. He noted that prompt disposal of cases should be the priority.

While addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, he announced that a digital case-filing system has been introduced and that e-services have already been launched in the courts. He further said that artificial intelligence should be used in the justice system, adding that cases will be scheduled through AI.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi also informed that a facilitation center will start functioning from October 1. He reiterated that transparency in the judicial system would ensure timely delivery of justice.

He said that he has always worked for the supremacy of law. He stated that after assuming office, he felt the need for reforms.

The Chief Justice said that reforms were initiated on five foundations. He emphasized that transparency in the judicial system would provide litigants with swift justice.

Addressing the formulation of judicial rules, he said that rules cannot be made in a single day. He added that proposals will be placed before the committee, and the judiciary will proceed in accordance with the committee’s recommendations.
