Anti-Army Propaganda Will Not Be Tolerated: PM Shehbaz

10 September, 2025 19:27

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the “toxic propaganda” against Pakistan’s armed forces, calling it unacceptable and intolerable.

Speaking at a federal cabinet meeting, the prime minister said some elements are using social media to target state institutions. He stressed that those spreading hate must be identified and dealt with firmly. “We must crush the heads of those mocking our institutions,” he remarked.

Shehbaz Sharif also vowed to fight terrorism and extremist groups, saying Pakistan must be freed from the menace of Khawarij once and for all.

During the meeting, he paid tribute to Major Adnan Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom fighting terrorists. “His sacrifice is for the nation, and Pakistanis take pride in their martyrs,” the PM said, recalling his meeting with the bereaved family.

On foreign relations, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that his recent visit to China was a success, especially the business conference. He said China has become both an economic and military power, while Pakistan is also working tirelessly to strengthen relations with the United States, with MoUs expected to bring new investment.

The prime minister also announced the imposition of climate and agriculture emergencies. He said the government will complete an assessment of flood damages within a week, promising federal support while urging provinces to play their role.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that recent floods have caused massive destruction, with water now entering Sindh. Over 1,000 people have died, and crops across thousands of acres have been damaged. He stressed that delays in national development projects will not be tolerated.
