Israeli Attack on Doha: PM Heads to Qatar After UAE President Visit, Saudi Crown Prince Also Expected

11 September, 2025 13:23

Following Israel’s attack on Doha, Qatar has emerged as a focal point on the international stage. The President of the United Arab Emirates has already arrived in Qatar, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also en route on an emergency visit.

Accompanied by senior federal ministers, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is heading to Qatar to show solidarity with the Qatari leadership in the wake of Israeli aggression.

During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Pakistan has also offered to co-host an international conference in Qatar aimed at unifying the Islamic and Arab nations’ response to the Israeli assault.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is also expected to make an unscheduled visit to Doha today.

In addition, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reached Qatar, and Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah visited the country a day earlier.

In a recent interview with a U.S. television channel, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that the Israeli attack has shattered any remaining hopes for the release of hostages. He emphasized that the assault on Hamas has placed the hostages’ lives in greater danger and called for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to be held accountable.

To recall, on September 9, Israel claimed responsibility for a strike in Doha targeting the senior leadership of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

Hamas confirmed that its top leadership survived the attack; however, five individuals, including the advisor and son of senior Hamas negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya, were killed.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly called Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to criticize the decision to attack Doha, calling it reckless and ill-advised.
