PM Announces Relief Package for Flood Victims, Waives August Power Bills

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a relief package for people affected by heavy rains and floods across the country.

According to GTV News, the prime minister said the floods have caused widespread destruction, resulting in significant loss of life and property. He added that the Pakistan Army and other relevant institutions are actively carrying out relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.

As part of the relief measures, the government has decided to waive electricity bills for the month of August in flood-hit regions. Shehbaz Sharif said that losses faced by commercial and industrial consumers are also being assessed, and power distribution companies have been given necessary instructions.

The prime minister assured that the federal government will cover the cost of electricity bills from its own resources to ease the hardships of flood victims.
