Israel Must Be Held Accountable for War Crimes: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar
Ishaq Dar Says Palestine Policy Remains Steady, Decision on Deploying Forces Pending
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has strongly demanded that Israel must be held responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity. He made the remarks while speaking at the preparatory ministerial meeting of the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha.
Dar said Israel should not be allowed to continue attacks on Islamic countries and kill innocent people without facing justice. He urged Arab and Islamic nations to take firm and united action against Israel’s violations of international law.
The Deputy Prime Minister proposed the creation of an Arab-Islamic task force. This body would monitor Israel’s actions in the region and adopt coordinated defensive and offensive measures to stop what he called “expansionist designs.”
Ishaq Dar asked OIC member states to pursue the suspension of Israel’s UN membership. He said this would send a clear message of seriousness from the Muslim world. He also encouraged Muslim nations to consider punitive measures to hold Israel accountable.
Dar urged the UN Security Council to demand an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire. He also called for the release of hostages, exchange of Palestinian prisoners, and protection of humanitarian workers in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Deputy PM highlighted the urgent need for safe humanitarian access to civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. He also stressed the revival of a genuine, time-bound political process to achieve a two-state solution in line with UN and OIC resolutions.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stand, Ishaq Dar said the country will keep working with the OIC and Arab partners to mobilize global support for peace and justice.
