Electric Cart Service Launched in Murree to Boost Tourism
Murree: To enhance tourism in the region, the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) inaugurated an Electric Cart Service on Wednesday. The new “City Tour” service was officially launched at Kashmir Point by PTDC Managing Director Asim Raza.
In a related development, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced a significant project aimed at restoring the historic Mall Road in Murree. The initiative seeks to revive the town’s tourism heritage after 167 years as part of the broader Murree Tourism Development Plan, introduced by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Speaking about the project, the Chief Minister said, “The historical beauty of Murree will be restored within a year.” She added that the Walled City Authority Lahore, with expert guidance and consultations involving the local community and administration, will execute the Rs 550 million restoration plan.
Maryam Nawaz further emphasized the goal of developing Murree as a model tourism destination for both Punjab and Pakistan. She assured that the quality of the project would not be compromised and stressed the vision to transform Murree into a global tourism hub.
