Bad News for Electricity Consumers: 19 Paisa Per Unit Increase Sought in August Fuel Adjustment
Bad news awaits those who use electricity, as an increase in electricity is anticipated.
According to details, the CPPA has submitted a request to NEPRA for an increase in electricity tariffs.
An increase of 19 paisa per unit has been sought under August’s fuel adjustment, which will also apply to K-Electric consumers.
The request states that in August, 14.22 billion units of electricity were generated, and 13.715 billion units of electricity were supplied to power companies.
The request further states that the cost of electricity provided to DISCOs remained Rs. 7.50 per unit, while the reference cost for August was set at Rs. 7.31 per unit.
NEPRA authority will hold a hearing on CPPA’s request on September 29.
