Over 60 Terrorist Camps Are Present Within Afghan Territory: Asim Iftikhar
New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, has said that over 60 terrorist camps are present within Afghan territory.
During a Security Council meeting on the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan expressed its concern.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, stated that Pakistan is committed to peace, stability, and prosperity in Afghanistan.
He said that isolation and boycotts will only create further complications for the region. Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees for four decades.
He added that the process of refugee repatriation is ongoing in a dignified and organized manner. The international community should share the burden and fulfill its promises of resettlement in third countries.
Asim Iftikhar Ahmed further said that more than 60 terrorist camps are present within Afghan territory. Terrorists are using Afghan soil to carry out cross-border attacks. Groups such as ISIS, TTP, BLA, and the Majid Brigade are operating from Afghan soil.
