Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Defense Agreement: Day of Gratitude to be Observed Tomorrow Across Pakistan
The Pakistan Ulema Council has announced that tomorrow will be observed as a Day of Gratitude and Prayer to commemorate the defense agreement signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Allama Tahir Ashrafi stated that the Pakistani nation will observe a Day of Gratitude tomorrow. He said that Allah Almighty has chosen Pakistan for the protection of the Two Holy Mosques.
Tahir Ashrafi congratulated the Pakistan Armed Forces, saying they will defend the Two Holy Mosques. He further said that the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is a message.
Earlier, a strategic mutual defense agreement was signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement (SMDA) between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The agreement, which reflects the joint commitment of both countries to enhance their own security and to achieve peace and security in the region and the world, aims to promote defense cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen joint defense and protection against any aggression.
The agreement states that any aggression against one country will be considered aggression against both countries.
The joint statement said that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have an eight-decade-long historical partnership, and the agreement has been made in the context of common strategic interests and close defense cooperation between the two countries.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan agreed to continue their nearly eight-decade-long historical partnership, brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, as well as their shared strategic interests and close defense cooperation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed heartfelt thanks to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him and the Pakistani delegation. The Prime Minister conveyed best wishes for continued progress, prosperity, and well-being to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
His Highness the Crown Prince expressed good wishes for the good health and well-being of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and for further progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Pakistan.
