PTI Founder, Bushra Bibi Seek Acquittal in Toshakhana 2 Case

19 September, 2025 12:16

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Friday heard acquittal pleas filed by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana 2 case.

During the hearing, the couple’s counsel Barrister Salman Safdar urged the court to schedule the case for Monday, warning that otherwise, he would not appear in court again for this case.

Responding to the request, Justice Inam Amin Minhas remarked, “I already have many cases on Monday, but I will try to accommodate.”

Barrister Safdar raised concerns over the speed of the trial, stating that the Toshakhana 2 proceedings were being rushed through unfairly. He added that despite continuous efforts, their cases are not being heard on merit.

“We are being made to run around the courts, yet our cases are not fixed,” he said. “At least hear our arguments. You can reject our pleas, but give us a fair chance.”

The court reserved its decision on whether to take up the case on Monday.
