Indian-backed Terrorist Killed in Helmand, Afghanistan
On Wednesday, 17 September 2025, reports confirmed that an Indian-backed terrorist was killed in Afghanistan’s Helmand province. His name was Gul Rahman, also known as Ustad Mureed.
Sources said Rahman was a senior commander and trainer of the Majid Brigade, also called Fitna Hindustan. He was responsible for planning and executing several deadly attacks in Pakistan.
Rahman was linked to many terror strikes. These included the Jaffar Express blast, the attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, and the Gwadar Pearl Continental Hotel attack. He also had a role in the Khuzdar school bus explosion, the suicide bombing at the Karachi Confucius Institute, the Pakistan Stock Exchange attack, and the Quetta railway station blast.
According to reports, Rahman directly targeted Pakistani security forces, Chinese citizens, and innocent civilians. Many of these attacks also aimed to damage CPEC projects in Pakistan.
The United States had already declared the Majid Brigade as a global terrorist group. Pakistan and China have been asking the United Nations to include this group in the list of banned terrorist organizations.
Experts say Rahman’s killing proves that Afghan land is being used for attacks inside Pakistan. This incident raises new questions about the Afghan government’s role in controlling terrorist groups.
