Punjab Govt Raises E-Stamp Paper Fee for Affidavits from September 2025
The Punjab government has issued fresh directives regarding affidavit documentation, declaring that “E-Stamp papers worth Rs100 or Rs200 will no longer be accepted for affidavit purposes.”
According to reports, the chief tax officer has instructed that all affidavits must now be prepared solely on Rs300 stamp papers. Previously, individuals had the option of using Rs100 or Rs200 denominations. The step is intended to streamline the process, standardize paperwork, and ensure adherence to updated legal and administrative norms.
Officials have advised applicants and stakeholders to comply with the new requirement to avoid unnecessary delays or rejection of documents.
Automated System for E-Stamp Papers
Alongside the fee revision, the provincial administration has rolled out an improved automated system for issuing e-stamp papers. The latest notification states that applicants must have their mobile number linked with their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) in order to obtain stamp papers.
Under the new digital verification process, once a CNIC is authenticated, a confirmation code will be sent to the registered mobile number. Only after this confirmation will the e-stamp paper be issued. Authorities have clarified that in cases where no mobile number is linked to a CNIC, issuance will not be possible.
Officials emphasize that the measures are designed to improve transparency, reduce fraud, and strengthen digital record-keeping in the documentation system.
