Pakistan Applauds Worldwide Palestine Recognition, Urges Coordinated International Action
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has warmly welcomed the recent worldwide recognition of the State of Palestine by several major countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Portugal. Islamabad has called on the rest of the world to follow suit and support the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and self-determination.
Representing Pakistan at a high-level international conference in New York, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised the global shift in support of Palestine. The event, focused on peaceful resolution of the Palestine issue, was jointly chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
Pakistan expressed strong support for the two-state solution, and endorsed the “New York Declaration”, which calls for immediate steps to ensure Palestinian statehood and peace in the Middle East. Dar emphasized that recognizing Palestine is not just political—it is a legal and moral duty under international law.
Officials also reminded the world that Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize Palestine in 1988, and continues to support its full membership in the United Nations.
Pakistan Condemns Israeli Aggression in Gaza
Pakistan strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, calling for a permanent ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to help the suffering Palestinian population. Over 65,000 people have reportedly been killed, with the entire population displaced and facing starvation.
