Authorities Remove Security from Islamabad Judges, DIG Summoned
A major security issue has emerged in Islamabad after authorities suddenly removed security from district judges, including their armed guards.
The Islamabad Sessions Court immediately responded. District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana issued a show-cause notice to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Security, asking why the protection was withdrawn without any reason or consultation.
The court has ordered the DIG (Operations) to appear in person and explain the decision. The judge wants a full explanation for removing security from judges, especially at a time when some are handling sensitive or high-profile cases.
This sudden move has raised serious concerns about the safety of judges and the independence of the judiciary. The court’s strong response shows it is taking the matter very seriously.
The outcome of the court appearance will decide whether security for the judges is restored or if changes will be made to future arrangements.
