Islamabad police extend driving license deadline
Islamabad police have extended the deadline for citizens to get their driving licenses. The new deadline is now October 7, instead of the earlier October 1.
This decision was made on the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to give people more time and ease the process.
From October 18, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will start a strict operation against those driving without a valid license. Action will include arrest, prosecution, and even vehicle impoundment.
Officials have also warned that anyone caught driving without a license will not be able to get a character certificate until they secure a proper license.
To help citizens, ITP has extended hours at facilitation centers and also introduced mobile units to manage the rush. People are advised to get their licenses before the new deadline to avoid fines or penalties.
