8 killed, several others injured bus, oil vehicle collision in Panjgur

27 September, 2025 18:27

PANJGUR: At least eight people lost their lives and several others were injured after a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker on the CPEC highway in Panjgur district, Balochistan, on Saturday.

Police said the crash happened because of speeding. The impact sparked a huge fire that quickly engulfed both vehicles. Initially, five deaths were reported, but the number later rose to eight as some of the injured could not survive.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies and injured to Panjgur Teaching Hospital, where treatment is ongoing. The rescue operation has now been completed.

Police have started an investigation, with early reports confirming speeding as the main cause. The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety in Balochistan, where poor roads and unfit vehicles often lead to such tragedies. Locals have urged the government to improve safety measures on the CPEC highway.

This is not the first such tragedy. In July, six people, including women and children, died when a passenger bus crashed into a trailer near Langar Sarai. That accident also highlighted the urgent need for stricter road safety steps in the region.
