Shahbaz Sharif Calls for Gaza Ceasefire, Highlights UN Meeting
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently spoke with Pakistani journalists living in the United Kingdom, sharing updates on his visits to New York and Washington, the situation in Gaza, and various national matters.
The Prime Minister described his trips to New York and Washington as productive. He highlighted a key meeting at the United Nations, chaired by the US President, focused on the ongoing Gaza crisis. Pakistan was specially invited to participate in this important session.
PM Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza, condemning the violence and calling for an immediate ceasefire. He is hopeful that the UN meeting will bring positive results soon. The issue of water scarcity was also discussed during the UN session.
Regarding national security, the Prime Minister recalled Pakistan’s recent conflict with India, stating that the armed forces gave a strong lesson to India and that the nation stood united with its brave soldiers. He also praised the sacrifices made by young soldiers in the fight against extremist groups.
The Prime Minister criticized the previous government for releasing and rehabilitating terrorists, which he said harmed national security. He also warned about the dangers of prolonged conflict between nuclear powers.
On environmental issues, PM Shahbaz Sharif acknowledged the severe damage caused by recent floods due to climate change but expressed confidence that Pakistan’s resilience will help it overcome this challenge.
