Early Monday morning, the 146 DN Sukkur Express train derailed near Hyderabad, causing three train cars (bogies) to go off the tracks. The train was traveling from Sukkur to Karachi when the accident happened. Many passengers were asleep at the time, and some were jolted from their berths. A few people suffered minor injuries, but no deaths have been reported.

The accident blocked one of the train tracks, stopping train services in the area. Officials have temporarily suspended train movement on the Sukkur-Karachi route, and delays are expected until the track is cleared.

A rescue and repair team was sent to the site, and work to fix the tracks and re-rail the bogies started soon after the accident. It is expected to take about four hours to complete the repairs and resume train services.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the derailment. Last month, the government assigned the Federal Constabulary (FC) to help protect railway tracks, trains, and railway land from illegal occupation and theft, especially in major cities. This move aims to improve the safety and security of Pakistan Railways.
