Political Shake-Up in KP: Two Ministers Resign from Gandapur’s Cabinet

30 September, 2025 16:42

Peshawar, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 – Two ministers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet have resigned from their posts and sent their resignations to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Who Are the Resigning Ministers?

The ministers who stepped down are Aqibullah and Faisal Tarakai.

  • Aqibullah is the younger brother of former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

  • Faisal Tarakai is the brother of senior PTI leader Shahram Tarakai.

Political Background of Aqibullah

Aqibullah entered politics with the support of his brother Asad Qaiser. He remained active in provincial politics and was seen as a trusted PTI member. His decision to resign has raised questions about possible differences within the party.

Political Background of Faisal Tarakai

Faisal Tarakai belongs to the influential Tarakai family of Swabi. His brother, Shahram Tarakai, is a senior PTI figure who also served as a minister in the past. Faisal’s resignation is being discussed as an important political development in KP.

So far, the KP government has not issued an official statement. Political experts believe that these resignations may bring changes inside the PTI setup in the province. Analysts also say the decision may impact cabinet reshuffling in the coming weeks.

The resignations have been sent to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. It is not yet confirmed whether he has accepted them or not. A formal announcement is expected soon from the CM’s office.
