New Machine Readable Passport fee in Pakistan for October 2025
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passport is the authority responsible for issuing machine-readable passports to Pakistani citizens once all requirements are met.
Every citizen of Pakistan has the right to a passport, which allows them to travel abroad and ensures protection through Pakistani embassies while living in foreign countries. A valid passport also serves as the main proof of identity for Pakistanis overseas and guarantees their right to enter and exit the country.
Documents Required for Ordinary Passport
If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you need to visit your nearest Passport Office or Pakistani Mission abroad with the following documents:
Proof of paid passport fee (Bank Challan or e-Payment receipt/SMS/Email with PSID number)
Original valid CNIC/NICOP with a photocopy
NOC (No Objection Certificate) for government, semi-government, or autonomous body employees
Foreign passport and its copy (only for dual nationals)
Passport Fee (October 2025)
The government has shared the latest fee schedule for passports:
36-page passport
Normal: Rs 4,500 (5 years), Rs 6,700 (10 years)
Urgent: Rs 7,500 (5 years), Rs 11,200 (10 years)
72-page passport
Normal: Rs 8,200 (5 years), Rs 12,400 (10 years)
Urgent: Rs 13,500 (5 years), Rs 20,200 (10 years)
100-page passport
Normal: Rs 9,000 (5 years), Rs 13,500 (10 years)
Urgent: Rs 18,000 (5 years), Rs 27,000 (10 years)
These updated fees will be effective from October 2025.
