02 October, 2025 10:54

The Ministry of Industries & Production has successfully completed the inaugural e-balloting for the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Scheme, marking a significant step toward promoting clean and sustainable mobility across Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The digital balloting process, conducted with the support of the Engineering Development Board (EDB), was carried out securely via the PAVE Online Portal under the supervision of the Balloting Oversight Committee to ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Out of 269,161 applications received, 40,000 candidates were selected in the e-balloting for subsidized electric vehicles. The draw allocated 40,000 electric two-wheelers and 1,000 electric three-wheelers among the successful applicants.

Applicants can check their status through the online portal by entering their CNIC or Application ID. Following the announcement, subsidy disbursement, payment facilitation, and vehicle handover will proceed according to approved guidelines, with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) responsible for delivery, after-sales service, and warranty compliance.

Federal Secretary for Industries and Production, Mr. Saif Anjum, inaugurated the e-balloting event and hailed it as “a landmark achievement in Pakistan’s transition towards clean and sustainable mobility.”

The scheme offers subsidies of Rs50,000 on electric two-wheelers through bank leasing and Rs80,000 for self-financed purchases. For electric three-wheelers, the subsidy amounts to Rs200,000 under bank leasing and Rs400,000 for self-financed buyers.

Mr. Anjum emphasized that the PAVE Scheme, in alignment with the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP) 2025–30, is projected to create over 100,000 green jobs, boost local manufacturing, and strengthen Pakistan’s industrial sector.

This initiative represents a critical milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, reduce emissions, and promote sustainable economic growth.
