When Will Pakistan’s First Supermoon Appear? SUPARCO Reveals The Date
Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced that the first supermoon of 2025 will be visible in the night sky on October 7. The moon is expected to appear larger and brighter than usual.
According to a SUPARCO spokesperson, the supermoon will rise in the east at 8:47 PM on Tuesday, shortly after sunset, and will set in the west before sunrise the next day.
Experts say that October’s supermoon will be 6.6% larger and 13% brighter than a regular moon, making it clearly visible in open skies.
SUPARCO added that this year will feature a total of three supermoons. The first is on October 7, the second on November 5, and the third on December 5, with the November supermoon expected to be the brightest.
A supermoon occurs when the moon comes closest to the Earth, causing it to appear unusually large and bright. Astronomers have encouraged the public to enjoy this rare celestial event by observing the moon under the open sky.
