Women’s World Cup: Pakistan Chooses to Bowl First Against India
Colombo: In a high-stakes match at the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first against traditional rivals India. The match is being played at the Premadasa Stadium.
Speaking after the toss, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana said the team would try to continue the strong performance shown during the qualifiers. “We’ll try to play good cricket and restrict India to a low score,” she said.
Change in Playing XI
Fatima also announced one change in the playing XI — Sadaf Shamas has replaced Omaima Sohail in today’s lineup.
With the ball in hand first, Pakistan will now look to its bowlers to make early breakthroughs and put pressure on the Indian batting side.
