Senate, National Assembly Sessions Scheduled Today
Today, both the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan will hold their sessions with important agendas. The National Assembly will discuss 15 key agenda items, while the Senate has 39 items lined up for discussion.
In the National Assembly, several bills will be presented including the West Pakistan Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Bill 2025, the Islamabad Local Government (Second Amendment) Bill 2025, and a bill to ban plastic bags. Additionally, a regulatory framework for virtual assets will be introduced, along with amendments to the State Bank Act and the Medical and Dental Council Act. The assembly will also consider a bill to reserve special seats for deserving individuals in universities and a bill aimed at protecting the rights of arrested and detained persons.
Meanwhile, the Senate will consider amendments to the Human Trafficking Prevention Bill and an amendment bill to the Pakistan Penal Code. A resolution to make Arabic a compulsory subject will be presented, along with a resolution expressing solidarity with Palestine and the Samoud Flotilla. There will also be a resolution focusing on relief and compensation for flood victims. Furthermore, a proposal to amend the Senate rules will be discussed during the session.
These sessions are expected to address significant legislative and social issues affecting the country.
