Faisalabad’s Electro bus service sees seven accidents in a week

07 October, 2025 14:25

The newly launched Electro bus service in Faisalabad is facing serious challenges, with seven buses damaged in just one week. Three more accidents were reported recently, raising concerns about the management and supervision of the service.

According to reports, one of the latest incidents happened at Ghanta Ghar Chowk, where a rickshaw hit an Electro bus, damaging the side door near the women’s seating area.

In another case, a bus’s rear screen broke while it was being reversed. A third bus was slightly damaged after being struck by a motorcycle rickshaw on Jhang Road.

Sources said that due to poor supervision, several buses have suffered broken doors, lights, and glass panels since the service began.

However, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Rashid Ali rejected the claims of negligence. He said some buses were already damaged during shipment.

He added that all drivers and staff are trained and experienced, though three drivers have been fired for mishandling vehicles. Further action is also being taken to prevent more accidents.
