PM Shehbaz Sharif Hails Gaza Peace Deal as a Historic Step Toward Middle East Stability

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called the recently announced Gaza peace agreement a “historic opportunity” to establish lasting peace in the Middle East and end the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the prime minister praised U.S. President Donald Trump for his leadership during the negotiations and acknowledged the vital diplomatic efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye in securing the agreement.

The prime minister expressed deep admiration for the resilience of the Palestinian people, who have endured immense suffering. He stressed that such tragedy must never be repeated and urged the global community to uphold justice and human dignity.

Concerns Over Masjid Al-Aqsa Provocations

PM Shehbaz also voiced serious concern over recent provocations at Masjid Al-Aqsa, condemning the actions of occupiers and illegal settlers. He warned that such incidents threaten to undermine peace efforts and insisted that those responsible must be held accountable.

Pakistan’s Commitment to Palestinian Rights

Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, the prime minister said the country will continue working with international partners to ensure peace, security, and dignity for Palestinians, in line with their aspirations and UN resolutions.

Deputy PM Ishaq Dar Welcomes First Phase of Gaza Plan

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan, which includes an immediate ceasefire, release of hostages and prisoners, and unhindered humanitarian aid. He commended President Trump and regional leaders for their diplomatic roles and expressed hope that the agreement will lead to a permanent ceasefire and lasting peace.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
