Khawaja Asif Criticizes Afghan Foreign Minister’s Statement from India
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, has strongly criticized recent comments made by the Afghan Foreign Minister during a visit to New Delhi, India.
Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif questioned whether the Afghan Foreign Minister was offering talks with Pakistan after taking permission from India. He accused India of using Afghan soil to cover up its failure in the region and of trying to seek revenge through Afghanistan.
“India is trying to take revenge through Afghan territory, and Afghanistan is facilitating it,” said Asif. He warned that if terrorists enter Pakistan from Afghanistan, the Pakistani forces will not hesitate to respond.
Despite the criticism, the Defense Minister said Pakistan is still willing to hold meaningful talks with the Afghan government.
He further stated, “India will face defeat through Kabul as well, just like it has in other places.”
In a separate statement, Khawaja Asif also targeted the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the nomination of a new Chief Minister was an attempt to blackmail the state. He warned that the government will respond firmly to such tactics.
