Maryam Nawaz Highlights Strong Ties Between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy a strong relationship of brotherhood, which has stood the test of time. She was speaking at a special ceremony held in Lahore to welcome the visiting delegation of the Saudi Business Council, led by Prince Mansour bin Muhammad bin Saad Al Saud.

Maryam Nawaz welcomed the delegation warmly, saying their arrival is a moment of pride for Pakistan. She said the people of Pakistan have great respect for Saudi Arabia, which holds a central position in the Muslim world. “The responsibility of guarding Makkah and Madinah is a great honor,” she added.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the positive public response to the recent Pakistan-Saudi defense agreement, calling it a major step in strengthening bilateral cooperation. She said the Punjab government is working on modern lines to promote development and investment.

Maryam Nawaz further shared that she spent seven years in exile in Jeddah during the Musharraf regime, deepening her personal ties with Saudi Arabia.

Talking about economic potential, she said that Punjab offers many investment opportunities and that the provincial government is providing top facilities to investors. “We are determined to turn Punjab into a business hub,” she said.

In his address, Prince Mansour bin Muhammad said Saudi Arabia is ready to boost investment in Punjab. He praised the province’s fertile land and said a new era of Pakistan-Saudi relations has begun. “Partnership with Punjab holds great importance,” the Prince added.

Both sides agreed to take bilateral relations to new heights through cooperation in trade, agriculture, and investment.
