Ishaq Dar Expresses Concern Over Pak-Afghan Border Situation
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Speaking to the media, Dar said the Taliban initiated unprovoked firing on Pakistan’s border, which has led to serious instability in the region.
He clarified that Pakistan’s military response is aimed specifically at neutralizing terrorist groups like Fitna al-Hind operating from Afghan soil, not at harming Afghan civilians. “Our forces are taking great care to avoid civilian casualties during operations,” Dar stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to defending its sovereignty and will take all necessary measures to protect its borders. He added that terrorist elements are deliberately trying to damage Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.
Ishaq Dar urged the interim Taliban government to take concrete action against such terrorist groups, expressing hope that responsible steps will be taken soon to prevent further escalation and restore stability in the region.
